Kater Potater is my BFF

So my BFF, Kate, is pretty much fabulous.  I was going to wait to show her this because she is visiting soon, but I was too excited.  She does all sorts of design stuff, and her recent discovery is overall amazing.  She created her own font using her OWN HANDWRITING!!  How neat, right?...it's kind of like having her autograph.  So, I immediately downloaded it for free onto my computer and knew exactly how I could incorporate it into our home.

Recently, we gave our mudroom a face lift...it's posted below I do believe...and I got all these baskets to put stuff in - they have cute little name cards so we know what is every bucket.  I decided to use the font  kater potater  to put on all the name tags!  It turned out adorable...thanks Kate for being you!

Daddyo Dave's SURPRISE 50th!!

While Drew has been preparing for planting corn season 2012, I was busy planning a surprise 50th Birthday Party for my Daddyo Dave.  Last weekend was the surprise, and with the help of my Sissy Pants and Brother D, we threw an EPIC party for our Daddyo.  

I can't even begin to explain the turnout - it was fabulous...since we all originate out of Minnesota, but now Daddyo lives in Arizona...it was truly beyond breathtaking the amount of friends and family that not only flew in just for the occasion, but the fantastic neighbors that came to make the party complete.  Tears were shed it was so amazing...which for me is kinda of a big deal.  

Drinks flowed, smiles were everywhere and funny dancing took the night away with the live band.  

Daddyo's next door neighbor took her cake making skills to the extreme with this super stylish amazing design, and delicousness!

The following day we had a pool party at Daddyo's home, where his Dad played some guitar for us with a little jingle...it was pretty special.

We will eventually add a bench, but I can't decide on exactly what type of bench I want, so it is on hold for now!

Easter Weekend 2012

This past weekend was Easter and my Cousin Taylor, his Girlfriend Danielle and my Aunt and Uncle Jerry & Susan traveled to our Red Roof Ranch!

We played at the shooting range (pre-warning the boys shot Roger Rabbit and I am including the pictures). Drew smoked some ribs Saturday and on Sunday, Drews parents stopped by and we had the traditional ham meal...with homemade carrot cake that I accomplished.

Mmm, good food, good times, good memories!!

The Pioneer Woman

This past weekend, my Aunt Susan and I went to Ree Drummond's (The Pioneer Woman) book signing in Denver! There were about 900 people there, but we were 40 and 41 so we didnt have a long wait for our meet and greet with her! It was her second cookbook that we got autographed and since we also went to her book signing last year, I look forward to this being a yearly tradition...as long as Aunt Susan cooks another fabulous dinner afterwards!!

Bronco Room Headboard

In honor of our new quarterback, Peyton Manning, I decided to finally put up the headboard that I made a couple weeks back for our Denver Bronco theme room!! Yay to my first DIY project!

Spring is in the Air

While Drew has been getting the sprinklers ready for corn planting season, I have ventured outside and started picking up sticks and branches from our wild wind storms!

Remington thought it would be good timing to go swimming in the kitties watering hole and start his spring ritual of digging up my flower bed..awesome...
